Reducing Gun Violence in Chicago
Chicago CRED believes that the individuals who are most at risk of gun violence are not the problem – they are the solution. Their mission is to achieve a reduction in gun violence in Chicago. They do this by focusing on individuals who are at the highest risk of shooting or being shot and providing a holistic and comprehensive range of support services, including trauma care, cognitive behavioral interventions, mentorship, and transitional jobs.
Our Investment
In addition to a $1.3 million investment, Chicago Beyond partnered with Chicago CRED to provide on-the-ground support to expand services in Roseland, guided by a Chicago Beyond staff member who is a Roseland native.
