Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project’s (YSRP) mission is to keep children out of adult jails and prisons, and to bring home people who were sentenced as children to life in prison without the possibility of parole. YSRP’s model introduces new standards of legal representation that challenge the way young people are traditionally represented in the adult criminal legal system.
Our Investment
Chicago Beyond’s $500,000 commitment supports YSRP’s approach to advancing policy reform that will end the practice of charging youth in adults courts and introduce more holistically safe practices to the justice system.
