Chicago CRED’s mission is to have a transformative reduction in gun violence in Chicago. Chicago CRED focuses on young men who are at the highest risk of shooting or being shot and provides a holistic and comprehensive range of support services, including trauma care, cognitive behavioral interventions, mentorship, and transitional jobs. At the street level, Chicago CRED leverages interruption and conflict mediation to reduce the potential for shootings and retaliations.
Beyond a $1 million investment, Chicago Beyond’s work with CRED includes on-the-ground support from a Chicago Beyond staff member who was born, raised and lives in Roseland, as well as the close partnership of our Growth Team.
