WE GOT US NOW is one of the nation’s leading organizations advocating for the wellbeing of children and young adults with parents experiencing incarceration. In their work, WE GOT US NOW drives policy reform, promotes family and community engagement, develops youth leadership, and supports the health and wellness of an estimated 10 million young people directly impacted by the carceral system.
Our Investment
Chicago Beyond’s $500,000 commitment supports WE GOT US NOW’s national model and goal to advocate for the wellbeing of children and young adults impacted by incarceration across all 50 states. This includes their efforts to strengthen the leadership of young adults impacted by the justice system through their Actionist Leadership Network, their work advancing policy reform to support youth and families, and their narrative work to ensure all system stakeholders understand the significance of this issue.
