Healing Center Serving the Southwest Side of Chicago
Centro Sanar accompanies families to heal and thrive by delivering accessible, high-quality, bilingual and bicultural mental health services on Chicago’s Southwest side. Centro Sanar takes a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to mental health, providing a wide range of services, including therapy, counseling, support groups, and educational resources. Centro Sanar addresses the impact of trauma and violence and works in partnership with communities to be active agents of transformation.
Our Investment
Chicago Beyond’s $1.6 million commitment bolsters Centro Sanar’s community-driven model, marking a significant stride in addressing urgent gaps in mental health services for community members on Chicago’s southwest side. In 2023, 79% of Centro Sanar clients reported a decrease in their depression scores, 94% reported a decrease in PTSD symptoms, and 88% reported achieving their counseling goals.
