Resident Association of Greater Englewood

Mobilizing Residents and Resources to Restore Community

The Resident Association of Greater Englewood (R.A.G.E.) is a grassroots organization that mobilizes residents and resources to restore community. R.A.G.E. is resident-driven and was established to build relationships with fellow community members, Englewood’s public officials, business owners, and organizations. Their multifaceted work includes efforts to support economic development through their Economic Uplift Project, advance equitable neighborhood growth through the Go Green on Racine project, and more.

Our Investment

Chicago Beyond’s $500,000 investment in R.A.G.E. aimed to facilitate the organization’s development of operational infrastructure and position itself as a community-led anchor institution. Additionally, it supported the establishment of R.A.G.E.’s first resident-owned fund, empowering Englewood’s residents to direct its resources. R.A.G.E. was then enabled to transition from volunteer-driven to a staff of five. Today, R.A.G.E. plays a pivotal role in leading systems-level initiatives, including the Micro Market Recovery Program and Re-Up 1158 Project.
