The Rise of Black-Owned Birth Centers

While the country faces a Black maternal mortality crisis, midwifery-led birth centers have been found to produce low infant and maternal mortality rates.  Chicago Beyond’s Leader in Residence, Jeanine Valrie Logan, will open the Chicago South Side Birth Center to provide Black midwife-led, culturally concordant care.  Read Word in Black’s article to learn more about Jeanine’s work in birth justice.
