On April 12, 2025, Hawaii’s Halawa Correctional Facility hosted its first-ever Easter Keiki Day, enabling incarcerated fathers to reunite in-person with their loved ones after months apart. Read more about the family-friendly visitation at the link below.

HALAWA, Hawaii (Island News) – Local families torn apart by incarceration, were gifted with an emotional Easter treat this weekend at the Halawa Correctional Facility.
The facility’s first Easter Keiki Day, hosted on Saturday, Apr. 12, gave incarcerated fathers an opportunity to reunite with their loved ones, after months apart.
The intimate event was made possible through a collaboration with Keiki O Ka ʻĀina (KOKA) Family Learning Centers – with a goal to provide a special celebration of love and connection.
