Our correctional institutions are unsafe for the communities inside and outside their walls. Do I Have the Right to Feel Safe? combines the perspectives of current and former correctional administrators as well as people with lived experience of the carceral system in order to provide a unifying vision that shifts our concept of safety from one predicated on control to one that creates the conditions for all community members – inside and outside of correctional walls – to be and feel protected, resilient, and whole. That is holistic safety.
